OMG look good !! whe wont some speq !!
whe should book a trip together one day !!
Nice one Jigger! Was she in deep water or still relatively shallow? Keep up the good posts.
He was in about 28 feet of water Dom.
I’ve had a lot of success over the years drifting the deeps so I’ve always stuck with what worked… worms. I’m heading out in the next couple of days and was wondering if anybody could share their experience with using either minnows or leaches?
When it comes to live bait I’ve done better with minnows, then worms, then leeches myself. Something I used to do a lot was tie a very small 3-way ahead of a bucktail jig and trail a small #6 bait hook behing my jig. I’ve watched bass follow eels around and I know fish are attracted to anything bouncing or dragging bottom. Sometimes if they don’t commit to the bucktail they’ll hit the worm trailing behind.
Trouble with minnows is that they’re hard to find around here. Perch minnows are easy enough to come across but the only place I know of that sells large minnows (3-4-5 inches) is in St-Zotique. But they do work really well.
Thanks Andre… I think I know the place you’re talking about in St. Zotique.
Good luck fellas and I’m truly stoked to have found this place (it sorta feels like home)!
Jigger, great job on this blog!! High fives and pats on the back my friend. I hope we could get out sometime as I’m sure we’d have some good stories to share.
